Battle of the Oranges, Ivrea, Italy (March 2 – 4): The carnival became a celebration of the Ivrean people's liberation and attitude against tyranny as a whole.

Mardi Gras New Orleans, Louisiana, USA (Tuesday, March 4th): The holiday of Mardi Gras is celebrated in southern Louisiana, including the city of New Orleans. Celebrations are concentrated for about two weeks before and through Shrove Tuesday, the day before Ash Wednesday (the start of lent in the Western Christian tradition).

Holi Festival, India (Monday, March 17): Known as the festival of color and celebrated over two days in March, the festival is based on Hindu mythology. Lake Louise & Lakeshore Trail: Explore this 2.8-mile out-and-back trail near Lake Louise, Alberta. Generally considered an easy route, it takes an average of 1 h 10 min to complete.

Moraine Lake: The waters of Moraine Lake seem like they have been poured straight from the heavens into the Valley of the Ten Peaks.

Lake Louise Ski Resort: The ski resort Lake Louise is located at Banff & Lake Louise. For skiing and snowboarding, there are 139 km of slopes available.

Lake Agnes: The hike up Lake Agnes is 3.5 km long and climbs about 400 meters in elevation. There are several worthwhile stops along the way and plenty of trails for detours in the area.

Big Beehive: Try this 6.8-mile out-and-back trail near Lake Louise, Alberta. Generally considered a challenging route, it takes an average of 4 h 39 min to complete.

Plain of Six Glaciers: Try this 9.1-mile out-and-back trail near Lake Louise, Alberta. Generally considered a moderately challenging route, it takes an average of 4 h 38 min to complete. This is a very popular area for birding, hiking, and horseback riding, so you'll likely encounter other people while exploring.

Larch Valley: Larch Valley is located up above Moraine Lake in the hamlet of Lake Louise, located in Banff National Park in the Canadian Rockies. The trailhead of this hike begins at the very busy, very popular Moraine Lake parking lot, just a short wander up the path from the lodge.

Basilica of the Holy Blood: The Basilica of the Holy Blood is a 12th century chapel, in the medieval town of Bruges, Belgium, which houses a revered vial containing cloth stained with the actual blood of Christ.
